Tim Holtz Assemblage Jewelry Care

  1. Wash with warm soapy water
  2. Rinse well and dry with soft, non-abrasive cloth
  3. Polish gently with a polishing cloth as needed
  • Prohibit the use of liquid jewelry cleaners. Most cleaners contain harsh chemical that could potentially remove or destroy finishes. Any alcohol based products can tarnish gold and silver plating irreparably.
  • Remove jewelry before bathing or showering (soap or chemical cleaning fluids can cause a film to form, making it appear dull and dingy).
  • Put jewelry on after applying makeup and/or sunscreen (cosmetics, hairspray, perfumes, lotions and sunscreens can contain chemicals that can often damage jewelry or temporarily cause dark coloring of skin).
  • Don’t wear jewelry in swimming pools and spas (chlorinated water can react with the metals found in jewelry causing color changes and even structural damage).
  • Remove jewelry before cleaning and/or housework (harsh chemicals are found in all types of cleaners and can take a toll on jewelry, stripping the metals and causing discoloration).
